sea level to 7000 ft

I recently drove my 427 powered CST to Big Bear.CA (7000 ft)from Los Angeles,Ca.After 4000 feet it really started running crappy and even my 4 wheel power disc brakes suffered.I understand with less oxygen it's going to
run rich but I never have experienced this condition before.I'm running a above average cam so I expect not to have the best vacuum available for
my brakes.Due to this high elevation I'm here to tell you guys it makes a big
difference.
KUDOS to crew chiefs that tune Hot Rods at Denver NHRA events!
I welcome any comments or recommendations.
Thanks,
Javy

When I drive Phx to Flagstaff, I have to lean out my 1406 half way there. Otherwise I smell a lot of raw fuel

Long time no hear Javy, the dash and glove box look great in my truck and have gotten a few compliments. How the new house doing? They say if you can get a vehicle really tuned well at a higher elevation and then bring it down to sea level you can general knock off a full second on a 1/4 mile run.

Glad to hear you're happy with dash and glove box door.
I would like to see pictures.
Thanks,

Here is some Picks, the upper & Lower control arms went out tuesday to have them redone to lift the front up a couple of inches. Then it's supposed to head to the body shop to get Hood Painted and some scratches taken care of.

I used to ride my motorcycle up there, I remember around Shugarloaf my bike could barely maintain 50 mph. That's a bike that could easily go 120 or more at sea level. It's really thin up there.

How do you do that? Do you just correct idle mixture, or do you perhaps change your metering rods? I suppose you could carry a special set of rods for high elevations. Correcting for idle only, would still leave you lacking for power.

Javy,

I bought a billet instrument cluster from you some time back but my resto has slowed a bit due to the body work that takes me forever to do. Are you still selling those killer glove box doors? If so, how much including shipping to Austin, TX. Thanks, Greg
