fuel filler in bed corner

sorry i cant help but i need one too, 1 1/4 inch in diameter for the hose to slide on, im having no luck finding one, its to the point where id offer a reward for someone who could help out!

As for the 1 1/4" diameter filler, I needed a 1 3/8" for my tank and had a filler tube from an 87 suburban which was 1 1/2" I believe. I went to checker/autozone and found an exhaust reducer piece that fit a 1 3/8" hose and weld that thing on the filler tube. Just a thought.

Here is mine using a copper elbow that was brazed onto a marine filler. Works, but the only draw back is you can't put gas in real fast. It works ok tho.

I can understand where you are coming from. I dont really have that much fall and I have the body lift. I dont see how its done on a truck with no body lift. The hose will not bend either, so forget that.

Gonna go make use of mine right now and spend a bunch of money.....

My thought is to make a box the same size dimensoins as the stake pocket but only half the height. Then attach it to the stake pocket and have the fill cap at the top of this stake pocket extention.That way it should be elevated enough to make the fuel flow down to the tank real easy. what do ya think ?

I have no body lift and my filler is about 6" above the bedfloor on the driver's side inner bedside. My tank is also so high the rubber to connect the filler hoses is about 1/8" off the bottom of the bed. I don't understand how you don't have room for an adapter. I cut off part of the original filler and welded the adapter on and it was still shorter than the original.

I think that there is a how to on the main page of gmc paul's web site that has to do with an s-10 type filler in the corner of the bed...

mudder-its hard to explain, the spout comes off the tank at an angle, the hose slides over it and comes up to the bed, there isnt enough for an adaptor so i need a type of filler that will mount flush in my bed then join up with the hose that would be maybe 4-6 inches long at the most then the tank spout is there....

Mine mounts flush in the bed. At some point u will have to have a 90 or a 45 bend . I will try to measure the fitting and filler you see on mine tomorrow. I'm pretty sure its not more than 4 inches it that fromthe bottom of the floor.

Do you mean like this? This is my setup in my truck...it uses a 69-72 Blazer fillerneck, and a fabbed up bracket. The hoses go between the top of my frame and under the bed floor to my tank under the bed. The truck is a 72' 2wd SWB. Let me know if you need anymore pics.

Nice job PrimeredThunder!! Can you post more info on that filler neck project PLEASE!! Dimensions, Pictures. What did you use to attatch the filler neck to the tank inlet (hose type)? Does the blazer filler neck come with the vent hose next to the filler? Does the blazer filler neck have A flange on it to attatch to the FAB'ed panel? Sorry for all the questions but I really like that job and really interested!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is mine that came off a 91 mustang. forgot to prime it though, now I have to regrind it. I just went to the local muffler shop and had them make me an adapter from 2" to 1 3/8". I broght it home and welded it to my new filler. I think that they charged me $5.

Primered Thunder, I did exactly what you did, but customized that "Auxillary Fuel Tank Filler Panel".

If anyone can shoot me their, e-mail, I'll send them a pic of what I did, cause I can't figure out how to reduce the size of the pic without making it ridiculously small.

My set-up is an 87 suburban filler tube and I cut the vertical tube in half, rotated it around 180 degrees and welded it back on.
