Question Alternator mounting help.

I am rebuilding the 350 in my 70. I want to relocate my alternator to the right side of the engine. It will make access to my power steering reservoir easier. I think it will look alot cleaner since there is nothing on the right side of the block for us non A/C trucks. Any idea as to what type of bracket to use. There is only one bolt hole on that side of the head. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!! I am running headers!!

The bracket you need bolts to the intake in front of the water neck and to the top of the water pump. This only works with the long pump. Most likely you have the short pump now. Also, the alternator you will need is internally regulated so the wiring is a little different. I have a Delco 12 SI 94 amp in my truck and it works great.

Yep on the pass side would require a long water pump. My 71 has the long pump set-up, put the PO (not Dean) kept the external regulator, they just extended the wires! The nice thing about the long pump set-up is the PS bracket does not utilize a motor mount bolt. The not so nice thing-you have crap using the bolts on both sides of the water pump.
