Internal regulated Alt issues

While installing a tach/vac dash, I eliminated an aftermarket Amp gauge and tried to wire up everything. Well the tach didn't work, the temp gauge didn't work and the amp gauge doesn't work. Tried some swapping till my fingers got tired trying to reseat that stupid little oil gauge fitting.
Does anyone have some good tech data on how to wire up the Altinator with internal (single wire) regulator so that you get your factory amp gauge to work??
Anyone have any tips on how best to check out the temp gauge----or why the tach is now reading about 500rpm too low?
HELP!! Can't find all my old files on how-too's ~~~~~~~

The ammeter gauge is on a separate circuit from your alternator. It reads flow of electricity in the main feed wire to the firewall so the type of alternator that you have has nothing to do with the ammeter.

Have you checked the little fuses on each side of the radiator? That is where most problems with the ammeter are.

On your gauge problems, it almost sounds like you don't have a good ground to the gauge package. I would make sure there is a separate ground wire connected to the metal part of the gauge package.

Good luck!
