Post could it be my alternator?

help i go to start my truck and it cranks for a second and then barely goes i put a new battery in it and it does the same thing i put my other battery in the other truck and it fires the truck right up could it be my alternator?

Check all the conections. Unless your alternator is frozen then I would rule that out, Common causes of your problem are bad starter drawing too much current, bad + or- battery cable not alowing enough current or timing too far advance. hope this helps!

i hope its not the starter its new i will check some connections.... i do need to replace my - battery connection it doesnt have any plastic left on it

Does it do it more when its hot? If so maybe your timing is advanced a bit too much.

no it doesnt do it when its hot i just changed the old wire and put a new one on but i ran into a problem i went to start it and nothing i have to go back out there and put a starter wire on it freeking fell off while i was changing wires

I'd check out the starter. A lot of times parts stores will test them for ya. Wouldn't mess with it to much. When mine went out I kept on trying it and then it was drawing current through the small sylenoid wires and not the bigger cables. Burnt those wires in a couple places... Then I had a bigger problem.
