I had the same initial thought...
as "Quagmire, but remember installing this on the BURB just last week during assembly (finally "VA Inspected" and on the raod today!!!). The original driver side (only) inner fender support bracket has 4 holes (2 on each "end") and is factory formed in a "S" shape when you look at the end (as opposed to the "U" shape shown in your pic)....realize this is not much help in "identifying", but it will be interesting to find out what these are...have never seen any like these before. As pictured, it appears to be some sort of support bracket (U-shaped).

The only thing I have torn down and kept the pieces in the last few years was a 73 up short step bed.. I kind of thought these may have been off of it ?? Whatever they are, They are in excellent condition, No surface rust at all..

They look like their notched almost perfectly (to clear the rivets) that go flush against the inside left and right frame rails at the rear where the bumper brackets go. Well theres a left on and right one anyways, we know that much (lol). Later Doug

I don't think they are off of a 67-72. They do look like bumper brackets kinda.

The aftermarket produced a "hood stiffener" for the '73 and ups. Could that be what they are?
Just a guess...SSOW

They look like part of the slider hinges for the rear barn door style doors on panels and burbs. I am not real sure though. Interesting question though.
I say chrome them and post on ebay with no description and see what they sell for.
