Engine dolly plans?
Im looking for plans on building an engine dolly. I have a motor I want to store for awhile. A low to the ground dolly that I could mount it on and move aroudn at will would be perfect. Anyone have plans or pictures for building one? I have a welder .

I always use the factory wooden crates that crate engines come in. Screw 4 Harbor Freight casters to it and you're set. I always have several engines rolling around the shop that way.

I used a set of those orange and black hand trucks (the really cheepy ones - $29) just because I had them around. Worked well and I put a scrap of 2x4 underneath to keep the weight off the wheels during storage. It would roll, just not very well.

I would like to see a place for the same thing or maybe even a good picture of one.

I've got a set of plans for a engine test stand, mount the engine and start her up.
Designed for small block chev.

Here is a SB dolly I designed myself. It bolts on using 4 of the bellhousing bolts. It has a welded base, but the uprights and supports are bolted for adjustability. Northern Tools sells the casters, weld on 1000# rated for $3.50 each and the swivel ones for $3.99.

Northern Auto Parts has an interesting design on their "engine feet." I was planning to make a setup like theirs.
