Definately go with the slider, if for no other reason than for more airflow.

I hate my slider But My hotrod with solid mounts makes it the rattlingist thing you ever heard.

They are an extra way to break into your truck too but on the same hand there nice for the added airflow.

I was "decided" on putting a slider in my truck for the airflow... but then the more I thought about it, the more I looked at my rear window and liked it plain and simple. So for a time my vote would have been nothing but a slider, but I logged in a no slider vote after really thinking about it.

I've had sliders on both of my trucks and it was one of the first parts I bought when I started building my 72.

Depends on what you like. If you live where it gets hot, a slider might be best. If you have a/c and plan to use it, a slider may not be necessary. Personally, I go for "form over function". I like the smooth looks of a solid glass.......I voted "no slider".

I think silver aluminum ones make em look better. I dont care for the black sliders but really depends on the truck too.......

sliders give a kind of 'sunroof' feel to a truck. I've had trucks woth both. Personally if you have A.C. you don't really need one. I prefer the solid myself, because the sliders look bulky, not as smooth as the solid glass.

I like the smooth look also, have a grey tint rear glass in my longhorn. I will say that I have had sliders in a couple old haulers, & the airflow through the cab is nice in hot weather. Also , if you have rear exit exhaust.....you can open the slider & hear the system(if thats what you are into) my oldest kid keeps telling me that I need more amp on the sterio, but I usaully turn it off, & listen to that old Chev run crazyL

I say no, just blows in the crap from the bed-leaves,pine needles, dust. Seem to rust some trucks where they drain, I don't use them anymore. Brian

I voted yes for the slider. Just like the open window in the back...makes it easy for me to toss my beer cans in the bed.

I've had a slider for many years, and I agree -

Good for ventilation, or a pass-through to a camper or shell.

Bad for stuff blowing in from the bed.

Solid rear glass definitely looks better.

Guess it's your choice.....

I didn't vote because it could go either way.

For better looks go solid back glass.
For better function / ventilation go slider.

I have the same dilemah you do. I can't decide on mine either.

Guys ,your killing me,the poll is even so far. Okay in the summer its around 90 degrees here and no the truck doesnt have a/c but its going to . I like the thought of both . I like the smooth look but air flow until I get ac is a thought also . It will start cooling off here in about 2 months and I hope to have the a/c installed by next summer . with that info lets see what happens

Put a freekin slider in!!! It is very easy to pull the rubber window molding off and pop out the glass. Put a slider in and if you don't like it or when you get air change it back to the solid glass. Here is a link to a nice slider that is brand new. I have the exact same one from this seller and it is really nice. I am in the same boat as you are...as my truck with have AC at some point...but until that time I'm doing the big "SLIDE" baby!!!!

On another point (this is my sinister side, so don't get pissed) Polls are stupid and are for the wishy washy, LOL!!! Do what you want. Sounds like, you know it's hot and you want the air flow, and really want to put a slider in....So do it! When you get AC, pop it out and sell it...someone always wants to do the slide!!!

I voted Slider but again like others I guess I could go either way. I personally have a Slider in my Truck...if I did switch it chances are I would miss it. I don't live where it gets overly hot for too much of the year but I don't know if I could live without the extra ventilation (my Trucks like an oven when it sits in the sun!!), plus I don't have AC but I prefer windows open anyway...guess that's why I like my slider.....lol

IMO sliders are ugly and noisy. I realize they may be appealing for those without A/C, but they don't really help. Just another source for cab dirt, noise, etc. My '84 has one and it has air!!!?? WTF?
