Talking Help - Easy For Some, Difficult 4 Me.

I HAVE TO PUT A FUEL PUMP ON MY 70 STEPSIDE, IT HAS A BIG OL 250.

HOW HARD IS IT, TIPS, TRICKS, SECRETS, SOMEONE ENLIGHTIN ME.

Easier than a V-8.. No goofy rod to worry about. Mine took about 30 mins and that's because I wanted to clean it up real good. Two fuel lines, two bolts .

If the tank is still in the cab, get some hose clamps (plastic locking pliers) to squeeze the hose off at the tank. If you don't you will drain the tank out when you take the fuel line off of the fuel pump.

Have not changed a 6 Cyl, but would recomend placing a filter in the rubber hose between the frame and the pump to keep trash out of the new pump. I use the small semi-clear plactic Frams on my V-8's, not sure of the part number.
If you don't have the pliers like Todd sugested, have a old spark plug present and just shove it in the hose as soon as you take it loose.
