Does anyone own one of these monstrosities?

Anyone have pics of one?

I've seen a few in magazines but never seen one in person.

was it a factory thing? sounds cool, i've still got it in my brain to find a crewcab long bed chassis and put a regular cab on it and combine 2 beds together to make up the rest of the room behind the cab.

Are/were you into Pontiacs at some point? Or maybe the Lumina from when I had my 1988 Regal... W-body forums possibly?

GM never built 12 foot fleetside beds...at least to the best of my knowledge. I have seen pics of some looong beds though...but I am pretty sure they were fabricated by the owner or conversion companies.

That looks right... There was a 1977 for sale in Cars & Parts magazine about 12-15 years ago and the ad said they were factory built, but like 15-17 built in 1977. There was another magazine (Chevy truckin'?) that had a small blurb on one as well. It said they were based on the 3/4 ton chassis. I will have to see if I can dig out the magazines when I go back to Ohio.

I am sure they were built by a coach or conversion company...I am 99.9% positive GM never built them.

Thanks for the nice words on the site, it is alot of work, but if others enjoy it as much as I do...then it is worth it.

oh on the topic of famous 73-87 trucks Bigblock73, in Star Trek: the voyage home (it was the 4th one) the whale lady is driving an early-mid 70s fleetside in blue, pretty sure it didn't have new style gas cap.

GM didn't produce one from the factory, as Jeff said, it was a custom made truck.

BTW , can someone tell me what were all the standard wheelbases available for our trucks ( Burbs & Blazers included ? ) , or point me a site where all those informations could be available ?

C/K-10/20/30 Wheelbase = 8' bed = 131.5"
C/K30 Wheelbase Crew cab = 164.5"

Correct... Although! Yet another oddity has surfaced. A shortbed mid 80's crew cab used by the Ohio DOT had been spotted at one time.

Another custom built rig. Some others have posted pictures of similar trucks here in the past. They are neat looking, but definately not GM made.

Just as Jeff said, the Short Bed Crews were custom also. I used to know the name of the company, but I can't remember now.....

Chris, I think the company was based in Texas...if that helps. I can't think of it either.

Here are a few pics of extended cab shortbeds, and a cc short bed...all of which are custom built trucks.

I own a 1998 CrewCab SWB 4x4 that according to NADA doesn't exist. From what I've seen on autotrader 1999 was the first year. When I went to refinance the '98 I found out I owned a 1998 2500 Ext cab 2wd??? When I went digging through the paper work I got with the truck originaly I found a book and a sticker from Centurion Conversions. I guess this is pretty common for them.
If I could find an 80's CC SWB 4x4 I would be all over it!!!
