Rear end swap - questions
I have a 6 lug 10 bolt posi rear from an 86 K5 Blazer. Can I swap the 6 lug axles for 5 lug and install it under my 84 C10 stepper? Has anyone done this? It seems simple, so I am guessing it's not possible for some reason.

I would assume so but who knows 4x4 stufff may be wider . Pull an axle and measure it and compare to a 5 lug /.

I know this isn't what you asked,... BUT how about some 6 lug front rotors from Early Classic Enterprises to MATCH the rearend and run 6 lug wheels to be different from everyone else. They make some COOL 6 lug wheels now. Just a thought.

They are the same width. You just need the 5 lug drums and axles. That's what I would do. I got a pair of heavy duty drums at NAPA the other day for $36 each. The axles are around $100 each or readily available in the wrecking yard. If you do go for used ones, check the bearing surface near the outer flange for wear since the bearings ride directly on the axle shaft. No sense in buying some that are badly worn...

Thanks for the help. I already have the drums and axles, so this might be a slam dunk.
