327 casting #s

Does anyone have a casting # for a 327 block that was used in a 68 chevy 1/2 ton? I am restoring my 68 and I want to get it as close as possible to original.

Thanks
Brad

Brad,

My 327 is a 3914678. My source is a book called "Chevy v-8 engine casting numbers 1955-93" It's a good book and worth the money if you are serious about matching numbers on a Chevy engine.

It has several applications listed. 302,327,350 Everything from passenger cars, camaro, corvette, truck ect.

It's a large journal 2 bolt block. I think I have a forged crank too.

The only other 327 block I see listed for 68 trucks is 3914660. I don't know the difference between the blocks. Perhaps it was auto trans vs manual or smog vs non smog thing. My block is mated to a factory 4 speed.

I also have all the other numbers off my engine components if you need anything else. All the casting numbers and date codes are correct for my truck.
