Pic of my 71 GMC and a small problem
Well folk's I finally found the charger for my camera.
Here's a pic of my 71 gmc 2500. Not the prettiest thing. I just picked up a hei and installed it. I'm hoping to have it on the road this month. Just need to finish the e-brake. and bleed the brakes a little better. Here's the truck: Here's the problem: Does any one sell metal hub centers or new replacements?? It was a little stiff so I pulled it apart cleaned it up and it worked fine. Locked them up and drove around the yard. I parked it and it wouldn't un-lock. Sooo I tried to help it and crunch. 30 year old plastic. thanks norville

try the dealer, you just may be suprised.
was it still in 4wd when that happened? you need to disengage Tcase before unlocking hubs.

Go to any driveline shop that sells Dana/Spicer. Part number for knob is 36050-3. The original would have been a blue one. The yellow is 73 & up Chevy and the red is Ford. They will all work though. You never know what color you will get when you order one. Most likely it will be red.

Sharp truck by the way! Always liked that GMC front end. HEI is a little close by the firewall isn't it? lol. I've done that on both of mine.
I noticed that the grill side pieces aren't installed on your truck. I wonder if they put Chevy finders on it instead of GMC. The truck I sold to Jim was like that and the side pieces won't fit. I thought the fenders were all the same till I logged on here years ago. |

that right fender is definitely a 69-72 chevy fender. the gmc fender is not pressed for a grille shell. it should look like a 68 fender.

Chevy did the right thing and put the distrbutor in the rear so when forging rivers and getting wet, etc. it wont get soaked and quit like Ferds does. See it a zilloin times
