As some of you remember, I have had some very agrivating problems with my wiring(mainly starter related).

I am now sick of it, and have decided to rewire the entire truck. What are my options as for a package? The only company I know of is Painless. They are pretty reasonable on their price for our trucks(around $280 thru Summit or Jegs).

Are there any other companies? If you have used Painless, what are your opinions?

Many of the vendors who sell here offer new harnesses. Or put a post on the parts board seeking a good used one.
I have put many a used harness in because someone hacked the crap out of an old one.

Might think twice about that. If you have a problem and you don't know what it is then it may not be fixed by replacing the harness. If you suspect a particular part of the harness, eng.comp/cab/etc then you might try going to a junkyard and picking up another one and trying it out. It is a cheaper guess than buying a whole new kit.

If you saw my wires you would not be saying that.
The previous owner did a real number hacking up this wiring. Heck, there is even home electrical wires in there

I used a vendor calle EZWiring or something like that. It was $100 cheaper than painless and as far as I can tell, has the same features. This wires are labeled (pronted on the wire itself) every 12 inches etc.I haven't installed it yet but it seems like good quality. I ordered it from an ad in Classic Trucks magazine where they have a full page ad. I've changes to gauges and a V-8 and a 700R4, and an aftermarket stereo, etc. The original wiring is not terribly hacked but the insulation is brittle. Long story short: easier to rewire than adapt. However I've wired a car from scratch before with no kit or anything, so it's easier for me than it might be for someone who has never done it before.
