Why not just eliminate it and go with a one piece drive shaft?

If you haver a LWB truck and don't want to spend the 500 bucks to get a high quality one piece drive shaft that may or may not 'whip' at high speeds, (esp with an overdrive where the drive shaft goes faster than the crank) then PM NeonLarry and ask him about the carrier bearing he did on his truck. I don't remember the details, but it looked tough as nails and polu instead of rubber ect...he also had to make it fit properly though. He had a whole thread on this and I'm willing to bet he kept a link to it.

I put one in my truck after it had gone through two carrier bearings its still in there and doing fine. The only problen I had was I had to machine (narrow) the upper portion where it goes into the frame mount, this has since been fixed. I just installed another one in the Burb along with a newer working tranny. The newer ones go in no problem.
After seeing the difference between the stock bearings and these I would use nothing else.
