if you get someone to tune it or can tune it, you can't go wrong with holley or holley made carb. I used to be edle. guy but when i wanted to get more power the tunability of a holley style carb can't be beat.

I assume you take the truck offroad since you mentioned Super Swampers. The Quadrajet will run alot better at angles than a Holley.

Dumpit,
I bought a holley from Bigs Performance Products in Wisconsin. If you search on yahoo you will find thier site. The owner is very easy to deal with and will gladly answer your questions. They will set up a carb to match your combo and intended use. I live at about 5000 ft. elevation and mine was good right out of the box and has exceptional performance. The guy painting my truck thought it was fuel injected! Very responsive and crisp. If your serious about performance I would consider giving them a call. |

i prefer Edelbrock with off-road trucks, they dont have any seals below the fuel line so less likely to leak or have any problems on angles.. Qjets are good as stock replacements, for a 350 dont go over 700cfm

Off road its all about the Qjet. If you not into big angles then Demon makes a sweet carb.

I agree with Tom about the 2.5" exhaust.
As far as the carb goes, like I said, Id use a Qjet, but if I was going to use aftermarket instead, Id use a 570 Holley on a stock 350. But youll get 50 differant answers from all of us . LOL

everyone does have their own preferences...
i choose Edelbrock because its as simple as bolt it on and almost no adjustments. Holley and others that ive had were continuous adjustment, always having to do something with it. i wanted a set it and forget it carb, Edelbrock will do that for you

BTW, there are dyno results out there, and ET slips to prove the QJet is superior. |
