more pics
Here are some more pics of the truck I found yesterday. I think I was mistaken it must be 68 note side marker lights and it is a CST I dont think that was offered till 68. Anyway I can get it for 4000.00 what do you think. Also the orig. biasply spare is under the bed.

What do I think? Honestly?
I think there is ugliness underneath that newer paint job. Anybody who will paint the grommet around the gas filler neck is lazy, and likely to but Bondo over the flaws rather than fix them.

I agree with what tx firefighter said...and also, it is a 67. Those aren't GM marker lights, they've been added at some point. The VIN is CE147xxxxxxx, the 7 is the year indicator, meaning 1967 in this case. If I were you, and was considering buying this truck, I'd take a really light magnet, and run it anywhere and everywhere on the truck, to be sure there isn't any nasty bodywork lurking under that paint.

Also., what's up with the random placement of that moulding at the top of the bed? What's it covering up?

It's a nice truck, but $4k is a little strong for a non-air longbed with rusty rockers. Looks like a used car lot, too so figure from a private owner that's probably a $2500 truck. The good about it though is the big window cab (only 20% had it in '67) and the CST seat.

It looks pretty nice for a 67 assuming it's not a bondo queen. The cab has all the right stuff and is complete for a 67 CST.
How is that extra top trim piece attached to the bed? Are there extra holes? That HAS to go. Factor the cost of repairing that if necessary. What shape is the 327 in? Is it the original block/heads? That effects the value somewhat IMO especially if you are going to keep it stock. I'd do at least a compression check on it and run the numbers on the block. It looks kind of like an older gentleman had it going by the presence of the extra trim piece and accessories in the cab.

As for value for the $$. If it's mostly original and bondo free, I'd take a MAACO painted 67 CST longbed over a slick customized shortbed any day! You may want to wait until next week before making any offers, you may get it cheaper at Frances' "scratch and dent" sale

Hmm, Good point Jeff. I don't know if 67's had the automatic choke or not. Rockguy, Is it a 2 or 4 B carb? Any engine compartment shots? Oh ya, You'll have to get that tailgate lettering painted too! -Now, BACK TO WORK! you all!-

Auto chokes were used on 67 4 barrel v8s im pretty sure. The others got the manual choke. I think it looks good, but you are pointing out some big mistakes with it. All i want are those seats in it
