ID NOS tailgate
I've never posted pix before & hope I got this right.
My neighbor found a tailgate in a recently purchased property. He'd like to know what it is before he sells it. I'm pretty sure it'll work for the 67-72 fleetside, but what do I know? Any help? Thx- (This is NOT a solicitation. That will be placed on the appropriate board.)

And so you don't get flamed on E-bay or where ever you sell it, it is not NOS, it is a new take off tail gate. NOS would have never been installed on a vehicle in it's life.

Doesn't look anything like my 83. Are you saying that it should fit? BTW, how do you like your 406? I expect that my heads s/b done this week. When I get the flow numbers, I can get a cam ground and lay out the rest of the drivetrain. Hoping to be wasting tires by Christmas.

here is a good shot of a 67-72 chevy tailgate, which yours isn't. perhaps it is earlier than 83?

Thanks
Thanks to all. I'd still like to ID an exact year, if possible, but based on your info, I'll move the post over to the 73-87 board.

Looks to fall into the 73-87 range. I was fooled by the flat, brushed trim on the back. I suppose it doesn't matter whether its a GMC or a GM, except to the restorationist, siince it'll be covered by the trim, anyway. Thanks again for all of your responses.
In reply to 689w/sbc406: I walk to work anyway. Hopefully that won't change anytime soon. I don't need a daily driver, but may have some trouble w/ emissions.
