this might be a dumb question but can you put a big block in the 6 cyl position like you can with a small block? maybe thats the problem, its sitting too far back, or maybe im just an idiot lol

oh it had a 402 a few months back, so it should fit the option of pulling everything forward 1/4" does exist but if i can leave everything as is I would be much happier (the exhaust will be fine ect) I thought about taking a hammer to the firewall but i don't want to go there, would rather do it right I know some one else has to be out there with a bbc and roller rockers ![]()

it's hard to tell which booster you have. the 1/2 ton had a larger diameter than the 3/4 ton ones (i think)

I have the same problem. Went with a short Billet Specialties set from Summit Racing.
Cleared my 1.8 roller rockers (barely) |

A body lift...or more of a body lift would solve this problem.

I went through this problem with my smallblock, I first installed PT # 4249 *(B) Tall ones and I had firewall clearance problems so returned them for PT # 4248 (B) Low ones and no problems. However I just checked Edelbrocks website and they don't make the low ones for a BB only yours (PT # 4280 Tall) wonder why?

well I put the chrome (ick) valvecovers that where on the prev eng and they bolted down fine, I still need to turn it over and feel to see if the rockers are hitting I may try the billit specialty ones
does anyone have any exp with the alumnum spacers for VC? also I think it would be fine if the top of the vc was curved not a right angle
