ebay: 67 stepside - suspicious
Ya think this has 7K on it
1967 Chevy Stepside on ebay. They claim it has 7K miles on it, orig owner, etc. The pics take FOREVER to load, but by looking at the bed, steering wheel and the pedals, you'd think there were many many more miles on this one |

doobie brothers song...
"What a fool believes" Right? Wasn't that a DB song title back in the 70's?
You'd really have to be one to accept that there are only 7K miles on that truck. What's even more scary to me is that if the seller is not trying to "pull the wool over everyone's eyes" then maybe he/she is simple enough to believe it. Any of us could/would guess that it must be 107 or even 207! Or the speedo broke a LONG time ago. :p

When i bought my 70 GMC from my neighbor the ODO said 03030. Of course the glove box had the mileage when the motor was rebuilt (64000) HA HA! Now it's at 57200!
That trucks has been worked hard for only 7000 miles.

Wonder why it doen't have the original GM hoses???? Those red ones look like parts house to me, and what happen to the Corbin wire clamps, or was this one just a special truck that came originally with IDEAL worm clamps all over the place.LMAO.

How many times did they pull that parking brake in 7k miles to wear the paint off like that?

they are growing more than just potatoes in Idaho. That dude is higher than a Cat's A$$ if he really believes this truck is an original 7K truck.

How hard was it to unscrew the speedo cable at 7000+ miles and let the aging process stop. Maybe the speedo broke....or if he ever pulled the dash, maybe he didn't get it back on correctly....hmmmmmmm.

That dude is on crack. Originally the bedfloor in all stepside trucks was painted body color. Wood, strips, and all were painted. Doesnt look like its painted does it? Because its been worked. I have seen plenty of "unrestored" low mile trucks. This aint one of them.

That truck is just like the 73 Delta 88 my Uncle bought years ago. It had 70,000 miles on it when he bought it, now it only has 45,000!!! This guy is crazy.

That thing looks like it's sat ouside for a number of years given all the surface rust. I think that hole in the floor is from a leak somewhere.
The paint on the 67-78 steering wheels don't last long especially on manual steering trucks. My steering wheel is in better condition though it's showing some wear. I'd believe 107k not 7k though. Most really low mileage trucks are in much better shape. I think the way to tell is to determine wear on the pedals and window mech. The seat does look to be in nice shape if it is in fact original.

Check out the interior shot of the seat. Quite a few streaks on the sheet metal under the rear window. I'd bet the gasket is dried out and if the window were pulled you'd find quite a bit of rust. Maybe worth $500 - 1000 but certainly no more. Will take a lot $$$ to get that in good shape.

I opened bidding at a $1000 but I agree that this is top dollar for this truck. We will see how it goes....

Low mileage no, good resto project- definitely. I'd have some interest in the $1K to $1500 range but not $4K. (Actually no interest at any price since I'm about to pony up for a new house!) Seriously, hard to find an original V8 67 short bed. Would love to have it.
