need help please ,, one wire alternator
I picked up a one wire alternator the other day and I want to put this on my truck. What do I need to do? I will also say that my amp guage doesnt work so I dont care about the gauge .Thanks

ALL YOU NEED IS A 10 GAUGE WIRE, RUN FROM THE POST ON THE BACK OF THE ALT. TO THE POS. POST ON YOUR BATTERY. JOHN

As far as your old amp guage goes, there are two fuses on either side of the engine compartment in black rubber holders. Check and see if they are blown.

Andy ,When I bought my tach dash the pc board was melted going to the amp guage and was cut . Hey thanks for the info though . So what if I hooked the wire that is already there ,,would that work and tape the plug back into the harness or just run another wire?

I would run another wire.I'm pretty sure the stock wire runs over through the regulator,and then to the battery.Proly won't work using the stock wire.I could be wrong on this though
