cabs

hi all,sure this has been talked about but havent been able to find it.I know in 81 they changed the front end,but will a 76 K-10 front clip still bolt up to an 81 or newer cab?? thank you.

yes you have to use the hinges from the genre of nose you use but it will work, and you will need to switch out the wiper set up in the cowl too

cab swap

Yes the cabs will swap i just did one for a guy with a 73 i sold him an 86 cab . You just might hav a few extra holes to cover up . Just for future reference you cant go the other way and try to put an older cab with a newer front clip you will catch hell trying to fit the new higes to the old cab .

the newer noses from 81-87 have two piece hinges part of which mounts up on the cowl the older units 73-80 have one piece hinges that bolt to the fender wells. you can use the 73-80 fenders with the newer cab. the worst part of the whole thing with that was sometimes depending on if you use aftermarket fenders is you have to kinda bend the tops out some. The rest of it works well.
Also you use the cab mounts to match your chassis. If you want you can email me at Ctruck1976@aol.com if you have other questions as ive already done this swap and learned alot about these trucks in the process
