Speedo Problem

My speedometer is stuck at 60mph. When the car is parked or running it says 60mph. Anyone know what this problem may be and if so what does it take to fix it? Thanks

Reach up behind the dash and undo the speedo cable. If the speedo goes to 0,it's probably your cable. If not,it's your speedo gauge.More than likely it's the cable.Have fun!Mike

Onless the cable is spinning at 60 MPH when teh truck is standing still, it'll be the guage.
You can remove the inst panel, and take out the speedo, and see if you can fix it with some spray lube or something.
Or just plan on getting a new (or used) speedo.
I can sell you a speedo for $20 shipped to your door with the miles showing what ever you want them to.

Well i took a look at my gauge and pulled out the speedo cable and put it back in. The gauge droped back to zero. So I thought that the problem was fixed, not so. Now it will not read anything above 60 mph. It is starting to look like a replacement for the gauge. I still have to look into it more. If I do need that gauge I will be in touch with you.
