quick ratio steering box/ front sus. tips
Hey guys, Do any of you have info about a quicker ratio steering box for my 70 1/2 ton 2wd? I plan on staying with manual steering, but would like a quicker steering ratio if possible. Anybody ever grafted on a camaro or corvette steering box?
Also I am collecting new parts for a total front suspension rebuild and any tips up front would be greatly appreciated. Looking at one of the kits for a disc brake conversion as well, is it cheaper to look for parts and piece a kit together or just buy a pre assembled kit? thanks for the opinions and experiences

You might want to consider a 73-87 front components for your disc brake swap. The parts are cheaper, more readily available, and the a-arms are rubber bushed. (smoother ride). I would try to obtain a complete front end assembly from the 73-87 era and rebuild it. Also I think around '81(?) the power steering fittings changed to metric. Not for sure on the exact year. I would be interested in a quicker steering box if it was an easy swap. Some people are using rack and pinion's to get a quicker ratio. I think Jim Meyer Racing has something available to work with "his" front ends for our trucks.
