My uncle had replaced the 16.5 rims on my 72 C/20 with a set of 16's off a mid 80's up Ford 3/4 ton...

All the 8 hole patterns are the same, ford, chevy, dodge.if the center is big enough to clear they'll fit.
I would just go walkabout the local yards and see what I could get a hold of.

Ford 8-lug went metric in the late models... Sorry dunno what year that started. I swapped my 16.5's for 2004 Suburban. Tires and alloy wheels $400. That's super good deal! If you like em, not everyone does, inquire who does the take-off conversions from your local GM dealer and go from there.

Yup all Ford Super Duties have the 8x170mm oddball pattern, so they won't work.
However, the F250's and F350's wheels on '97 and older will work. Newer Ford vans are still 8x6.5 IIRC, so they will. Watch out for the oddball 7 lug found on some light duty F/E250's, though. All GM wheels to present should work, but the center hole may not be large enough to work for you. If you want some "Bling" get the chromed alloys or even the H2 rims (17x8 I think). Dodge has gone metric too IIRC, but I don't know anything about that. Any thing from the 70's up to 93 will work for sure, but it gets fuzzy after that. Good luck! EDIT: the takeoff rim and tire packages are cheap! I just talked to a guy on Pirate4x4 who bought ebay H2 rims for his truck, he bought a set of 5 rims only for $177 + shipping. Talk about a deal! Check tire stores if there are any around you, because a lot of ppl buy new trucks and take them straight to the tire store to get some blingin du(m)bs and lo-pros, and you can score the stockers for cheap.

I just replaced my 16.5s on my 72 3/4 GMC. I was gonna use take-offs from a newer GM but the wheels were too tucked into the wheelwells and I didn't like the look. I ended up lay'n down some cash for custom wheels and 6 ply tires in the end. I'm happy I went that way, and so is the wife.

There is no machine work required on the H2 wheels? I remeber some guy on ebay selling information on how to modify H2 wheels. Maybe it was for the lug nut cover?
