Rear Leaf Springs
I am repairing a 1979 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 LWB. The rear springs measure 52 inches with 6 springs,I found a very good set that are 54 inches with 8 springs. Can I use them and what would it do to my truck. I can get them for 50.00

freebird41, where in OKLA are you? i am just north of OKC...
as far as the long springs, you may have to move your rear hangers back a bit, unless you can man handle a 54" 8 pack, where a 52" 6 pack use to be.....if you can it will probably max out your shackles and give you a inch or two lift.... |

None of our trucks came with 54" springs. 52 and 56. If the springs you have are indeed 56", you will need to move the rear hanger back 4". There should be holes in the frame already.

I am in Pryor. I was in Edmond last night. I think I will try to make them work if I can. Is 50.00 a reasonable amount to pay?
