"tools not normally found in a residence"?! lets all take a pic of our garages & send them in.
"see what tools are normally found in a residence" if you all know what I mean. I for one will not tolerate the assanine idiots who write these ordinances telling us what we can & cant do in private! after all its not like we are killing people & chopping them up with "tools normally found in a residence"!
I believe these laws were written to keep people from running a repair facility out of a home. its just that some people take things too far. at the apt complex where I live we have a "lady" that everyone affectionately referes to as "the B*TCH in 106" that calls the police when a car is parked 3 inches over the yellow by the fire zone. one day she made the mistake & called in to have a car ticketed without knowing it belonged to the complex owner. WHOOPSY, bad call there. she is being evicted now.

Found who it is and then switch the leads on their service coming in. It will blow everything in their house. Then switch it back so they won't know. Then sneak in when they aren't home and pack your sh*t into the vents in their fridge, they will be sick as dogs for months and have no clue. That is how you fix them.

For my next house I will purchase 20 acres and put the house in the middle with a gate at the front. Lot's of no trespassing signs too.

Why should I hafta close the door? How can this ordinance even be legal. Doesn't a man have a right to utilize his own property? How can they regulate what tools I use? I even found another ordinance that defines paint prep as "major maintenance". So you can't even legally sand your car!!

Angry Look at what I gotta live with??!!!!

I was researchin for a buddy that got hit up with parking his ElCamino on the side of his house.. But that is an altogether differant rant. This is straight out of the Sacramento County Code. Can you believe this? I mean, I can see if I was using an air hammer at 10:00p.m. someone might have a problem with that.... But to be inside my 3 car garage, with no parts or anything in the front yard.... How can you deny a man the use of his own property for personal enjoyment?? I'm pi$$ed! You get one analy retentive neighbor and that is it!!! You're hosed. Heck, you can't even use "tools not normally found in a residence"!!!!
Get this... If you want to file an appeal you first have to file an application to appeal within 15 days of the violation notice with a fee of, get this, $1157.00 to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors!!!
Dear God!! There has to be a car nut attorney out there somewhere. Where do you turn?
Sorry to ran.. I'll probably get sent to the "Island of Misfit Posts". I had to share.
Rich

Looks like I reduced it too much...

I dislike sac town, I won't get into why. Sorry that your getting so much sht. I work at my aunts house and no one ever says a dam thing. Funny thing is non of the nieghbors are actually ever home. Even when I did this stuff at my parent house. I guess its where you live and if your nieghbors actually care too much about other people business. I know when I buy a house I either want to make sure my nieghbors are cool or I don't to have any close enough to hear/see me. Good luck.

A man shouldn't have to ride on the good graces of his neighbor. You should have a right to build a car in your own garage.... Regulation? Sure, yes to hazmat, noise abatement, safety.... But just working inside the confines of your own garage with no outwardly visable signs of said work? No. There should be no regulation of that.

We have a 53 Buick sitting in front of our garage, we've had it there for over 9 years like that. We drive it and work on it off and on, nobody *****es about it being there. Right now it's at my Granddad's house and we've got an 86 TOYota camry sitting in it's place with the engine pulled out and torn down, then when we get that back together the Buick gets to come home.

If they don't pay my house payments and property taxes.....Back Off!

Usually I find that people who complain don't have a life, and their not happy unless they make someone else miserable.

I bring junk home all the time. I had a 1930 Model A body sitting in my front yard for about 4 months, no complaints.
