has anyone seen what the polished ones look like, in person??

My Dad has one on his truck. It is a good finish to the K&N filter and it helps to align the air flow, along with the 4" x 14" filter that we use. He has the polished one and it has a finish on it that is real close to a chrome finish.

If your going for performance and not looks spend the money on a stubstack instead, at least that thing is dyno'd to actually help with the airflow

We have one of those to and it is just sitting in the basement because it didn't make a noticeable differnce

Noticable? I don't think either of these products will do that for you. We're talking about 5hp max or so....

even if it didnt improve performance at all, i think it looks better.

If you take a look at the 2004 PHR engine masters challenge you'll notice the rules required a 14x3" commercially available air filter and housing but did not allow filtered lids eg. the x-stream. The official results have not been published yet but i heard Jon Kaase's SBF put out nearly 800 horsepower.

Huge waste of money IMO, unless you really dig the looks.

I like these new(I guess they are new) accel air cleaners, but they are mighty expensive

yeah i figure when i next change my air filter and PCV and other piece with that im gonna spring for a K&N. Just a regular K&N.
