What did you get done?

It's that time again. The weekend is almost done and it's time to ask, "what did you get done" ?

I have to say I had a pretty productive weekend. I spent quality time with my family and stiil managed to get things done on my trucks.

Friday night I took my daughter to watch a U of Houston volleyball game. Her volleyball coach for the upcoming season is a senior for U of H and one of her clinic coaches is the assistant Coach for U of H. She had a blast watching the big girls play.

Saturday I got up early to run errands. Got a haircut, got the oil changed in my Dodge, and detailed the wifes Yukon. Then I pulled my Harley truck out and detailed it too. Saturday night I went to a local cruise spot in the Harley truck. The weather was awesome so there was a lot of cars out.

Sunday I rolled out early again and started on my yard. It's that time of year when everything needs to be cut back for the fall. Then I spent a few hours detailing my 02 GMC. I had a guy call Saturday night that wanted to buy it, and it hadn't been detailed in a while.

The good news is even though the a/c decided to not work on our test drive, he is going to buy it. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I will have one less truck in my driveway.

Now for the best part of my weekend. Even though it wasn't me doing the work my Blazer is seeing some progress. I got pics from n2billet showing what Roger at Stoked out has been doing this week. I am soooo pumped.....

Sat - Recieved in the mail the 80 psi factory oil gauge (from big truck) that I bought on ebay. I installed it in my truck, and while the dash was apart I greased my speedo cable. No more dancing needle!
Sun - RAKED AND MOWED!

I got to cut N2TRUX (Ken) brand new cross member (please see picture above in n2trux post) yep, there's nothing like cutting up perfectly good metal.

Then I took my daughters Saturn door apart (outside door skin) to replace the power window unit. She's now happy that the window goes down and I'm happy that I'm getting my toll tag back

i did nothing to the truck, friday night-football game, saterday- UIL marching competitions, we got 1s so thats good i guess, sunday-church, went fishing with a couple of friends, and thats it, and Ken, on our 2002 2500HD the ac sparadically doesn't work, just turn the truck off, wait a second and then turn it back on, its a computer thats going out, and its under the dash and everything else, wouldn't mess with it.

Basically jack. Had to go to God daughter's birthday party on Saturday. Had to buy some lawn and garden trinket crap with the wife. Went out to dinner. Got home just in time to watch the Yankees spank the Red Sox. :p

Sunday slept in, then put my dash back together once again. Took truck around the block a few times for test drives. Didn't get to see my crappy Redskins beat da Bears. Have to upgrade a neighbor's PC in a few minutes and then hopefully watch the Yankees close out Boston.

Well,

I have been knocked on my butt this weekend by a stomach virus. Starting to fell better today though.

I did get my Blazer in the barn.... errrr Garage so I can work on it all winter.
I got the rims and tires off of it. In this process I determined that I will need some more jackstands.... I am trying to figure out a way I can build some rolling stands to set on the frame so I can move it around the garage a bit if need be.

I have been spraying all the axles bolts etc with penatrating oil so I they will be easier to remove also.

I also ended up finding a set of heads and intake for my 454 build up from a fellow board member here in Texas and I am looking forward to being able to pick them up and meet him.

I am going to go ahead and put the stock 2X4 suspension under the project and build on the motor for now. When it is done and I can afford a complete bag setup then that is more than likely the route I will take.

But it has to run good first...

I figure, motor rebuild, swap all the suspension stuff over, the bags, then paint, then interior...

Sometime in the next century....

Regards,

Stacey

I built a small work bench today in my new garage. Its getting there slowly but surley. Ran my cable tv internet and alarm and telephone wires from garage into the house. Also wired the whole house for a the security system. I have so many wires running thru the basment it is not funny.

Your Blazer is looking awesome, Ken. I'm always impressed w/ how clean and organized that shop is.

I installed Energy Suspension motor/transmission mounts, assembled the powder coated Moog steering linkage, and applied a coat of Meguiar's NXT wax to the chassis. Otherwise, I kicked back for once.

started out on Friday night removing the front spring mounts from my K10, and found that the rivets in my front crossmember were all loose. popped them all out, and replaced them with grade 8 bolts, now the only rivets that are left in my frame are the ones for the 4 mounts under the cab. made my custom 7.25" center to center shackles for the front, and after drilling the last hole in the last shackle i realized that the frame bushing hole needed to be 1/2" and not 9/16" like i drilled it. gave up for the night there, and went out with a buddy to check out some of the local gentleman's clubs that we havent been to yet.

Saturday was pretty worthless, i didnt get up until almost 2:00, then hung out with some friends of the family who were in town for the day. met the exchange student that my cousins are hosting... SO HOT!

got up this morning, and went to Menards to buy more steel to fix the shackle screw up. i was getting dressed to go out in the garage when my parents called and said they needed me to pick something up at the Mendards store on the other side of town. didnt tell me what it was, just told me to bring the big straps with me. i get there, and they're waiting with a 7hp 60gal Sanborn air compressor. no more waiting on the compressor to build up pressure for me. went and picked up my cousin to help unload it, and hung out with him for a while after we did unload it. and now here i am. that is my novel for this week.

I didn't do too much this weekend, but did spend a little time on Yeller. I pulled out the engine and started de-burring the outside of the block. After about 45 minutes on the front of the block I realized that it really sucked...so I finished the front and called it a day. Today I dropped off the engine at a friends house to have him go thru it. I realized a while back that the original build wasn't done up to my standards (the blocked was decked but the intake was not planed...and I was told it was)...so I am having it gone thru (for peace of mind) and also having a little extra compression added to it for more power (new pistons...nitrous friendly ones too ).

Ken, your Blazer is looking sweet!! N2billit, you guys do awesome work!! Are you guys planning on pulling the body off the frame or anything?

Thanks Jeff. Yes the body will be lifted off once the front is made to roll again. They have a new building at the Stoked Out complex and the Blazer is going in it. Once it's moved there the body will come off to get the rear suspension set up.....

Hmmn, got about 2 cases of beer drank over the weekend, laid out a 790 sq ft kitchen with brand new tile, then did the door way, then drank more beer. Sunday woke up, cut about a cord an a half of fire wood in the pouring rain, after the snow started fallin lightly, I decided it was time to go back inside, then I did the grout work on the tile.....then came home, read for class, an watched the yankees game.....

Not a bad weekend all in all.... now all i gota do is figger out this stupid wiring problem with my alarm, and why Im not getting any heat....

Finally got my rear end out and dropped off at the shop to have my new/old gears installed. Found out I didnt lose a bearing after all, just the pinion nut backed off on me. But one bearing had alot of play in it, so I decided after going this far, just git er done anyways!

Mowed the yard (hayfield more like it) and did some work around the shop Saturday. Had a few computer jobs to do on Sunday. Not much really., Used the leaf blower to clean out the bed of the 82!

Thumbs up

Well,

I went up to Sebastian, Fl. this weekend where the '87 stepper is stored and i installed a new T-Stat housing cuz the old one had a really small pin hole in the side of it. I guess from sitting so much

Then my buddy and i went over to Lake whales, Fl. and put another New roof on my dads shop thanks to hurricane Jeanne.

Then went back to his place and i installed my header's and the Flowmaster ForceII cat back system on the '99 Tahoe Man that system is sweeet! and now that Hoe runs like a raped date
