71 extended cab

I found this rough project truck on a swedish car ad site. The truck is a LWB from start but the owner replaced the original bed with a short step bed and extended the cab to fill out the space.
He says he got the inspiration to do this from a picture in an old truck/car magazine.
Just wanted to show you guys this, have you seen more examples of this convert?

He have put the original 8 foot bed on a chassis from a mobile home trailer and made a truck bed trailer out of it, it´s wisible in the background of the picture.
He wants (SEK 10,000) about $1,400 for the complete package, truck and trailer. He have the front bumper but not the grille.
He says it´s a 71 C10 but it have 6 lug wheels, wouldn´t it have 5 lugs?

Mats..

Wouldn't it be easier if you took a 'burb and cut it down then used the back portion of a cab to "cap" it?

Looks like a lot was merged on that guy. probably will look OK when finished and painted. Looks like he grafted early F150 ect cabd pieces to fill the gap. I can't tell from thew shot, but almost looks like the rear wheels are 5 and front 6. Whatever you are right about 71 being 5 bolt (for 2wd). Don't know about how they license them in your country, but my guess if it is close to the US they licensed it from the cab serial number plate, but probably started with a pre-71 frame for the dude.

It looks rough, but not bad to workfrom depending on how his grafting was. You looking to make this your next project?

looks like the hood could be a 67/68, unless the pic just makes the front of it look more slanted...???

Definately a 67-68 hood. Wow Mats, look at all those classics in the background. How often do you see American cars over there? I've been to Europe several times and I had rarely seen an american car let alone a classic. Mostly German, Japanese and the mini's are all i've seen in Europe, oh and the scooters seem to be very popular especally in the big cities.

OK, 67-68 hood and 6 lugs and it is a 2wd but a 71 title, it´s going to interesting to check it out.

The American car sceene in Europe differs a lot from country to country.
I think Sweden have relatively many American cars compared to France for example.
In the summertime there is pretty many classic American cars around, wintertime most of them is garaged though.

At least one of the classics in the background is an early sixties Volvo PV (Person Vagn). The guy selling the truck said he would like to trade for Volvo PV or Volvo Duett which is the station wagon in the same series. I belive he is a collector of those. I think that Volvo body style started sometime in the 40´s and ran until late 60´s.

These days it´s mini van´s from GM and Chrysler that is the most common new American car sold here.
