Cool '67 Hot Rod Six--look at this...
This little jewel stopped by Sunday. The owner is on this board, but doesn't post much. These guys are doing some real slick inovative work. Watch for more in the future.
Sorry about the bad pictures, but the sun was out and we don't know how to do anything right when there is sunshine! Features: Cowl hood, 3spd with OD, Clifford intake, cast headers into ONE BIG pipe w/Flowmaster, elec ign, PB, ...***and check out that air cleaner system. That looks trick. Some kind of Buick V6 with a remote filter up by the front inner fender. It even has exhaust heat going to the unit. I'm sure I missed much, but ain't it cool!!! PS: I sold him 6-lug disc brakes for his next upgrade. Last edited by PICKMUP; 11-02-2004 at 12:24 AM. |

Thats what i thought but from the pick i cant see the side covers or the carb. It sits low in the engine bay though, which would be a 250. Lets say a 250, and with a 3 speed overdrive i wonder how the low end is in it cause a 3 speed would be pretty rough taking off.

Moodybo, the big black round canister thing between the master cylinder and the firewall is a power brake booster. The truck has power brakes.
Stelth2002- In that one picture, it's hard to tell, but the engine looks like a 250. I think the motor mount is behind the fuel pump.

now THAT is cool...
Excuse my ignorance, and I can't see the linkage well from those pictures, but is that a 3 on the tree with something like a GV OD unit, 3 on the floor, or 4 speed tranny?

I wish those guys would come on here and explain this truck. I don't know much about details.
The trans is a 3spd OD (I think out of a car). That PB booster looks like it is closer to the firewall than normal truck. Anyone else think so? Vacuum for PB or other can come off the intake anywhere. That's more than I know, already. |

I like it, very cool! Anyone who puts anything other than a small block in their truck get attention from me. Don't get me wrong, I do like small blocks (and have owned several), but after a while I get tired of looking at the same thing over and over.
One day I wash to have a straight six powerplant in a mid 50's street rod...that would be fun. Hopefully the owner of this truck will chime in and tell us all the details.

I confess, Im responsible for this. My buddy ended up with this as part pay on a Fatboy ( Harley, I build those too!). We decided to go to the Monroe Swap about two years ago to pick up a carpet kit which we did, well if any of you have pulled out the floor mat or carpet you know first hand what we found well one thing led to another and this is the result. The engine is the original 250 soon to be replaced with a built 292. The intake is a Clifford water heated, Holly 390, Stovebolt cast exhaust, 68 El Camino BW T-85 ( 3 on the tree ) swapped out the complete setup wiring harness T-handle in out cable It looks stock, not sure about rear gears havent looked. 4 core radiator, electric fan, rear mounted gas tank plus saddle tanks (the side fills will eventually be replaced with transplanted stock body color doors, this thing holds 80 gal. of gas fill up breaks the bank!) And as Frank said soon to have discs. Appreciate the favorible response, many hours went into this!
