Is this for the 68, or the 69? It chainged a few times in the run.
If you post the VIN in question, we can decode it for you. (you can leave the last few numbers off foe security reasons if you feel so inclined) |

Checked the books that I have aquired now, it almost seems like there are too many numbers for a '69. It has the right makings for a '70 but some of the letters dont quite match
K- 4 wheel drive E- V8 2-3/4 ton 0C --?? 02-Flat Back cowl 03-Cab/Chassis 04-Fenderside p/u 05-Panel 06-Sub-panel doors Z-Fremont build plant A-doesnt match year coding 2--start of sequential The literature that I have shoes the 67-69 GMC to only have 6 numbers before the sequential. chassis engine gvw model type model year assy plant is there anything else to go on, how bout the model identification from the glove box sticker it should be 7 digits KE2(2 numbers cable to axle length)(2 more numbers stating type like 34-fleetside p/u) sorry it didnt really answer your question but hope its a start

Could you look again and see: are you sure about the MODEL# being "KE2590C" ?
Is the "C" in the model number correct? I've never seen anything like that. Me thinks it should be like KE25904....

It is an 0C at the end of the model #. According to "ROD", the 0C in the VIN is stepside box. Maybe thats how GMC did them???????

OC is just another way GMC did things different than Chev. OC means step side on a GMC....if it was OD it would have been a fleetside.
But you'll find plenty of GMC's with the 04 (stepside) like you thought it might be.

Thanks again ROD. I do have another Question??? When, if ever, did they put 454 in 67-72? Chevy or GMC. I know they did the 396, 402????? If you know. its no big deal. Thanks Steve

The only called truck that had a 454 was an El Camino or GMC Sprint in this era of 67-72.
I wouldn't bleed to death to prove it...but the pickup trucks didnt have 454's. Now there may be a couple in 72 but no-one has proven it so far on this board. It could have been an overlap to the 73 model which had 454.
