brake light and signal light problem
well the truck is hibernating for the winter now , but before I parked it, the brake lights worked fine, the signal lights worked fine, but when Id hit the brakes while the signal light was on, the signal light would quit, it does this when both the right and left signal light are used, so what gives?

Andy is probably right. Look on ebay, there is a guy that sells new AC Delco turn signal switches for our trucks for like $14.

Before you buy a new switch I would go thru and clean all the ground connections for your lights. It might help and it might not but at least its cheap.

I doubt cleaning the grounds would do anything...the ground is good enough for the amperage of the brake lights, which is the exact same as the turn signal since it is the same filliment.

I think it's working as it should. I think Andy's right that it's the same filliment and if it is it can't blink and stay on continous at the same time.

Does the taillight quit, or does the dash indicator quit?

Always check the easiest things first, I say, cause I'm lazy. See if your front signals work, see if your bulbs are ok, see if your blinker is burnt out, and poke around with a test light before you pull your signal switch. As for blinking. The brake light / signal use the same filamint. The signal is just a blinking brake light

found the problem today, I had one of those Hoppy inline tralier wire connectors in the back, and as soon as I unhooked it and plugged the taillights back in, everything started working fine, so there is obviously something wrong inside of the trailer connector
