Power Steering pulley help !!!
my ps pulley has started to wobble ... makes a annoying racket.. how do i go about tightening the pulley .... is the nut on the front of the pulley reverse threaded ??... please help .. i need ideas thanks

Should be standard threads, also the pump shaft should accept an allen wrench to hold the shaft while tightening. Try tightening it up, can hurt. I can't imagine it getting bent without you knowing it

there's no hole for an allen wrench .. i've been told i need a special tool to remove and tighten the pulley .. does anyone have a picture of what this thing looks like ??

If the belt is tight enough, you should be able to put a wrench on the nut and tighten it up.
If it still slips, hold the pulley with your hand and tighten the nut with your other hand. The newer model pumps had the press on pulley which require the special tool.

I would check the keyway on that pulley. Mine was loose and it messed up the keyway, ended up w/ new pulley and pump.

i think the bearings probaly shot .. i can pop the pulley back and forth about 1/16 inch.. the belts tight and the nut doesn't want to tighten on anymore ... whats the keyway ???

That 1/16 movement is normal on all of my pumps. Never any leak or problem with them.
The key way is inside the pulley, on the shaft of the pump itself. It's a notch cut out of the shaft that a key fits into. This key keeps the pulley from spining on the shaft.

how do you check the keyway then ,, if its on the shaft ?? im confused
