Line-X bed liner in the cab.
I need opinions. Would a spray in bed liner be good to spray in the cab to reduce noise and prevent future rust? I have a darn near perfect cab, with VERY minimal rust. Seems like the Line-X would help keep it nice. Would this make the truck less desireable to a future buyer? I'm thinking they would think I'm covering up rust. It's a daily driver, but in beautiful condition. Thanks. Darren

As far as future buyers thinking your covering rust,,,a few pictures or right before it gets sprayed/rolled on would probably help convince them otherwise.

The only thing I would suggest is making sure that you leave all bolts in holes so they don't get filled up in the spray-on process. Of course that leaves you with the problem of getting a wrench back on the bolts later. I dunno, maybe re-tapping all the holes wouldn't be so bad.

I have a friend who did this just put longer bolts in then the heads will be plenty high. It made the cab real quiet....my 2 cents

I was thinking about doing this too. If you do it I would like to see how it turns out.

Darren, Charley @ Charley's Drop Shop did this to one of his trucks. It made it much quieter. Go talk to him over on 33rd by the airport; I think he owns the bedliner place next door.

The cab would be prepped and free of rust before they spray on the Line-X. I think it is n excellant idea. Sprayed my bed on my new truck but the 72 still has a bedliner, which amazingly hasn't caused it to rust yet!

I plan on doing the same thing to the next burb project. Both inside the cab and underneath.

Sidebar: Line-x has another product they are trying to sell to the airline industry that(when applied to the inside of luggage container) that will contain a small explosion. They showed a test on tv where they dropped several cinder blocks while standing on an 8" step ladder that all shattered, then they repeatedly dropped a cinder block cover with this coating it never broke, they even threw it down a couple times and could not break the block. Just some useless trivia....

Re: Line-X bed liner in the cab.
I'm wondering how many guys have done this and then put soundproofing on top of it.

I know there's some that don't agree with me but I'm of the opinion that a near perfect stock vehicle should be left as is and protected with paint only. If you're planning on customizing anyway, that's a different story. Rust is something that we all have to keep after with these old trucks and if you live in an area that is not salted for ice and don't drive on the ocean beaches, you shouldn't have to go to extremes. As for noise reduction, padding and carpeting may be just as good. Again, this is just my opinion.

Re: Line-X bed liner in the cab.
I've had my cab dipped -hot caustic- and phosphatized. All rusted sections have been replaced. Would Line-X go directly on the surface or should it be primed first.
