Jack Picture???
Anyone have a picture of the stock jack and handle positioning on the inner fender well? I have an 84 btw, but they are probably all the same. Mine didn't have a jack when I bought it. No decal on the inner fender well. I put new inners in anyway. I have the jack, handle, mounting carriage bolts, wingnuts and mounting steel. Junkyard decals have been of no help, since they are usually ruined, one way or the other. The yards I go to generally pull them all (no customer jacking rules). Haven't made it a priority to figure it out but I'm tired of it rolling around behind the rear seat. TIA

Amusing Dave.
Yeah, I know they were bolted on the passenger side inner wheel well. Just hoping someone had a picture to post.

Nevermind. Thought it was a fairly simple and easy request without any thought or too much effort required. Didn't even require any typing. Probably would've got pics if I needed someone to put some big hideous clown rims, tires and slam a vehicle to it's bumpers. Thanks anyway.

I have an 84, and mine is on the passenger side inner fender well. I pulled the jack and handle, etc out when I pulled the motor for a rebuild. A couple of months later when it was running, I had to figure out how they went back since the sticker is messed up. I could only read parts of it.
I had the jack, the fold up crank handle, the tire tool, two wing nuts, and one or two metal hold down pieces that went under the wing nuts.(Don't remember if the jack had a metal piece, may have just had a wingnut). Mine has two studs sticking up out of the inner fender well back behind the battery. The folded/hinged end of the fold handle sticks in behind the battery, there's a hole in the radiator support wall that it sticks thru, then it lays on the inner well between one of the studs and the edge of the engine compartment, with the bent part of the handle in the back with the bent handle part towards the motor. The tire tool lays on the other side of the stud and the metal hold down piece goes on across both ot them with the wing nut on top. I wasnt' positive about the jack. My battery is new and smaller like they are now days. The end of the battery tray is empty, and the base of the jack layed nicely in the end of the battery tray and over the stud with no problem. So that's how I bolted it down with the wingnut, and again, don't remember if there's a hold down piece there or just the wing nut. It's been raining here for what seems like days, suppose to rain all day today and tomorrow, but suppose to clear up by Wednesday. I'll try to get a pic of how mine is bolted in then. It's a handy place to put the jack, but I'm not so sure it doesn't rattle. Had my truck for a couple of years, but just now starting to drive it, so I'm listening to all the little rattles and noises trying to determine what I need to replace (bushings, ball joints, etc) to tighten things up and make it not sound like a rattley old truck, and I've been wondering if some of what I'm hearing is the jack handle.

Okay, it finally stopped raining here so I took some pics of the jack and handle location. My truck is an 85 but it should be the same as yours. The jack is on the drivers side near the pwr brake booster and the handle is located on the pass side and runs behind the radiator overflow and battery as shown in the pics.....enjoy :p
I couldnt get pics from the underside of the wheel well because the truck is lowered.

These are the only ones I have that might give you an idea. this is on my daughter's 82. It's right behind the battery. I can try and get some others if it ever sits still long enough

Here's mine. Sorry for the delay, it was either dark or raining every day when I got home lately, and then we were out for the holidays.
Anyway this is how mine is. Funny how they changed this around from year to year.

Since this a family orientated board, I won't type exactly what I'm thinking or where you can shove your "smilies." I can think of exactly 2 questions I asked aboutin total as compared to my number of posts. One about retrofitting ac and one was this thread. I'll just have to keep in perspective the person asking the question for now, on whether I'll reply since like a few others here...been there, done that. Especially when dealing with any GM motor or trans., besides others. Anyway, thanks much to the people who posted the pics. I figured it out last week. Sure the pics will help someone else who needs to see them and doesn't have an instructions decal.
