Suicide hoods?

AnyBody else get paranoid looking at the hood shaking in front of you?
I've had 3 hoods come up on me from driving shoot arse beaters.
The one on the highway was a nightmare!

A suicide hood would be sweet arse on a 67 Chev!

Anybody done this switch over?
Any Web Sites?
my 85 B$W has a factory suicide hood which helps the panic.
the 78 has big arse bolts through the hood!
Darn those hoods.

ScoutII hoods opened backwards. Maybe you could find one and adapt the hinges from it.

my Buick has the hinges you speak of. once, my hood actually did come open on the highway. I had been installing my cd player and had disconnected the battery, and when i re-connected it, for some reason i just gently put the hood down and didnt latch it. when i got to about 45-50 MPH, i heard a CLUNK and the whole hood popped up about a foot in the air relative to where it was originally, but thats all it did (the front of the hood pops up a little first, then you tilt it forward). i had to go home and change the undies.

I was following a honda on rt78 in nj,When all of a sudden it,s hood flew off and came strait back at my tractor/trailer.It cleared my hood and,I guess the air flow from my truck shot the hood way up in the air.It came back down 3or4 cars behind.the honda never slowed down.

I need to ask this guy next time I see him at a show. I think that it looks great and looks easier access inside.

I got a chance to see the same truck last year. Very nice job, but the owner was no where around to talk to.
