Looking for frame rivet info
Hello!
A while back I beleive there was some information or someone had a supply of factory rivets for the 67-72 frames. Also has anyone installed these and how? Please let me know... Thanks, Perry PTS |

I just bought a bunch from Ed and he tells me the way to install them is with an air chisel tool. Cut the chisel end off. Have the round shaft machined to a cup shape, heat the ririts with a torch. Hold the head tight with a block or sledge head and impact away.

These guys got it covered. Back when I was doing old Mustangs I used a aircraft rivet set that I filed away the outer edge to open it up for the larger rivets. I then drilled a hole in a peice of 2" steel the size of the set shank. That gave me a tool for the head side. Then I used a 4X rivet gun with a flush set. Heated the rivet up like mentioned. Just don't over do the riveting as you'll crack the rivet on the tail side.
