Since we are talking wires in another post, how about plugs here? What are you using with HEI and what gap?

We use AC plugs, R45TSX gapped at .050-.052 with GM's HEI ignition.

Here is a link to the AC spark plug site where heat ranges and nomenclature are spelled out.

I had R44's with my old points system, now I'm running R45TS's with new wires, still points. I have a HEI setup, I just haven't got new wires for it or the time to install it.

Since I have always ran Delco's I use R45TS in my 83 4x4 and in my 67. But when money allows I use Bosch Platinum 4208's I have had really good luck with em and they seem to outlast Delco's for me. Have used NGK's in the past don't remember if I liked em or not. LOL

R44TS gapped .045 and stock HEI.

I use the R45 gapped at 45. The "TS" is for a newer head with a tapered seat.

NGK V power I think.. .45 gap. Pricey but I like them. They are the cross ref for a R45TS

The T represents a tapered seat. The S represents an extended tip. If you have an X in the equation that represents the .060 gap. Personally I use the R43TS in my 68 with a 454 TBI

I too use the R45TS. This brings me to a parts person rant. Broke a spark plug because of my headers. OK, a couple. Decided to replace em all. Mrs. actually volunteered to go get em. I gave her a broken plug with the # plainly visible. She came back with some Delco platinems. Said the parts guy insisited these were better. Yeah, $7 bucks a plug better! I went back and lit in to em.

NGK's are good plugs I wont run anything else in a chainsaw or boat anything 2 cycle Im curious to try a set for my truck Anyone have a delco cross ref chart?
