trans question
I need to take a 4 speed out of a 4x4 blazer (71), and want to put an auto in. How hard is it to convert a turbo 350 out of a car to work in a 4x4? Can it be done? Thanks!

Yes and no, yes if you bought a divorced style 205 from a 69-74 dodge (w/ cross member) and had 3 driveshafts made.
No because the 4spd 205 has a different input than the Turbo 350 205. Also the adapters are different and the you'd have to go inside the 350 and change the output shaft. You'd be better off buying the setup already mated and sell yours as a set.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |
