Metering plate/block???
Whats the difference between a secondary metering plate
And a secondary metering block!!?? Any pics? Just trying to get my carb going, but ordering renew kits for the 4150/4160 Holleys is driving me nuts! Fits Holley model 4160 carb, 3310, square flange Holley with primary metering block and secondary metering plate.

the metering plate has to be drilled to go up in jet sizes and the metering block you can change jets out with normal jets plus the metering plate in the back wont have a power valve and the metering block will. personally i like the metering block better much easier to change jets

If it's a 3310-1 which is a 780 CFM you need the 37-1084 renew kit, otherwise the 3310-2 or -3 or -4 which are 750CFM take the 37-754 kit.

Plates were used to car manufactures could put high performance carbs on cars cheaper. If I remember right, they usually had blocks on the primaries and plates on the secondaries. I got that info out of a 30 year old book though. Not like Holley changes much though....

Yes it seems the cheaper 4160 has a plate on the sec. and the
4150 and 4500 have metering blocks on the primary and sec. Thanks I'm going to use the metering blocks so I can change the jets! Now I need the renew kit for a 4150 Jegs and Summit want $80 USD! |
