Saw this on ebay. anybody know what the seat in this truck came out of ?

To me it looks like original truck buckets (or buddy seats I have heard them called for the year.

It either came original from that truck or another`67/`68 GM truck.It`s what is refered to as a Buddy-seat.Drivers&passengers side buckets w/jump-seat in center.Lift bottom up to access console storage.

I know a guy has a set of those for sale,, or did a couple weeks ago if anyone's intrested.. we're in Canada, eh. so shipping could be a B**ch.

Looks like 67-68 buckets to me. I have the same ones in my 67. Not nearly as nice though.

The trucks not bad either! But....why, Why, WHY would anyone put a tiny cheap A$$ cheasy little air cleaner on an otherwise nice clean truck! Or on any truck for that matter....

Not that I don't like or even use, occasionally, an open element chrome air cleaner but I put the widest, tallest one that will fit to let it breath!

Do you know if those would fit in my 72, and also, what shape are they in and how much money? I have a bench in mine right now, and it is very beat up. I am about 90-100 miles away from saskatoon, so i could pick them up pretty easy. Do you have any pics of them? Thanks.

On the seat pictured, does the center of the back fold down to form an arm rest?

Many years ago I got in the habit of driving left handed, with right hand either propped on an arm rest or stick shift. In an automatic I feel uncomfortable unless theres an arm rest.

Yes, it folds down into an armrest. The bottom of the buddy bucket also folds up for storage.

muddpile- Those would go into your 72 just fine but you'd have to drill out for the bolt holes. Also, some 67/68 guys might not be too happy with that! Maybe try to round up some 72 buckets instead!

How major are the differences in the seats? I will be re-covering them and everything, so is it just the bolt holes and the cover, or are they actually a different style of bucket seat?

They are entirely different. 69-72 buckets are just like the Blazer buckets. Separate driver/passenger seat with a separate center consel. The 67-68 buckets have one frame which extends across the cab and then the seats and buddy bucket bolt to that frame.

Is this the stock 72 buckets and console? If so, those are definitely the ones I'm looking for.

Thems the ones you want! Technically stock they came with square seat belt holders instead of round cup holders so that's an aftermarket console but effective.

A rare option in '67 was the big back window. Hard to find but they are out there. This truck seems pretty well optioned so I don't doubt it is correct. Also, v.i.n. matches up to a SWB V8 '67. Would love to own that truck (with a stock air cleaner!)

Well your lucky to have that seat and be in such good condition. I have see those seats go for 300.00 bucks and they are all messed up and needed to be refoamed and recovered.

That console looks pretty good for aftermarket. Fits nice. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a set of buckets like that. Thanks!

The first set of buckets have 68 seat skins on them.

The second pic of buckets are 71-72 skins on them..the console is GM but newer than our years typically.

The 67-68 buckets should bolt into holes already on the floor. No drilling should be necessary.

Hmmm. If they do bolt in, that would make it so much easier. I think LMC sell a console like that. I'll keep my eyes open for any stock buckets, as I'll be re-covering them anyways.

I've done later model trucks, like late 70's and the consoles are the ones with the round drink holders like you mentioned. Not aftermarket at all. The earlier consoles had the square holes. I don't know which year they switched to the round cup holders though.

The consoles are pretty easy to find. I have several in my attic.
