Welcome to the board, Jason. I've been doing mechanic work for about thirty years, so I guess you could say I "cut my teeth" on these old engines. It's always nice to hear when someone keeps one running. They were so simple that some of today's mechanics may actually wonder how they ran without all of today's electronic technology. Not knocking today's engines, they have definatley came a long way, squeezing more and more horsepower and economy from less displacement, but I still like the old iron. I've amazed many people at how low I can idle the 223 six in my 60' F100, so slow that you can stick your fingers between the fan blades, and the engine stays smooth and won't die. Enjoy your old truck. Welcome again.
