Angry How do you remove the headlight knob?!?

Trying to pull the knob so I can replace some bulbs in the dash, the wiper knob was held on with a screw, no such device on the headlight knob. What gives?

There is a small "button" on top of the switch body. Reach up behind the dash and hold it down while you pull the knob out. The shaft and knob will pull out.

I found that if I pushed the switch first then pulled the knob it would not come out. The trick is to pull the knob all the way out THEN push the switch.

I've always had the best luck pulling the knob out to the first position (parking lights) and then depressing the button.
Don't forget to disconnect the battery.

I got it done, had to pull it twice, and didn't bother to disconnect the battery the second time. AFter I put it back in, I noticed the oil line was leaking so I had to pull the knob again. Took me forever to get the line so it wouldn't leak, and of course the battery was dead when I put it back together. I did the ignition switch awhile back, that wasn't too bad, working with a bunch of chevy guys, I had heard plenty of stories. Thanks for the guys.

No need to remove the dash/gauges just to replace a couple of bulbs, there's enough room to reach all the bulbs from behind the dash.
