got everything hooked up ready to run fired right up (should have guessed problems) it appears my # 1 valve is sticking . these heads have been siiting since they came back from the shop. And of course it was a few years ago. Have any of you guys gotten a bent valve back in a set of heads? I may just buy another head dang four yrs and getting close this sucks. sounded good for the 1st 20 minutes though. any one got one good head to bolt on close to washington state? lol thanks Jack

I would try running some upper cylinder lube through the carburetor unless the valve has already hit the piston. It might just be sticking and will free up.

Try pouring some ATF in the carb at a high idle. Not much, just a trickle and have the engine fully warmed up and running at about 1200 RPM or so.

If you need a pair of heads, i have a pair of #624 heads with about 25,000 miles on a rebuild. They are fine and not cracked.....76cc, but 1.72/1.50 valves. Hardened valve seats too. $50 plus shipping and they are yours if you want them....shoot me a PM if you need them.

I think they are in pretty good shape with Erson springs. You can have both for $75.

looks like the casting number is 462624, granted, not the best flowing head that GM ever made but is fine for those that are not looking to break any speed records...
don't get me wrong, I am not trying to dump these heads on some one, I've got 2 other motors that I'll be building in the next year or so and I can use them myself for those "stock" rebuilds
