Hi new here workin on a 72 chevy
hi all i am 15 got a 72 chevy long fleetside i am trying to restore. and i am wondering where the best place to buy body parts is like cab corners etc. for a resonable price. and my truck also HAD duel tanks but someone cut them out before i got it i still have the tanks and i am wanting to put them back in so does anyone make these doors? or would it be better if i made them myself?
THANK's Dan |

Dan, good luck with the truck! I have ordered parts from Tim Christian's and had good luck with them. I think most of the vendors listed on the main page can supply what you need as well.
Welcome to the board from Kentucky! Roger

Welcome from upstate SC
Dan, With reguards to your dual tanks, as far as I've ever seen, these tanks had either a filler neck that stuck out of the bed, similar to blazers and the cab tank filler, or a really ugly square aluminum door that was just screwed into the bedside. I personally don't like either and I don't know of anyone that reproduces the doors. In my opinion, your best bet would be to go to a junkyard and look at filler doors that will fit the looks of your truck's bed. I recommend looking at the 88-98 chevy truck Fleetsides. It's up to you and good luck. I built my first truck, a 67, when I was your age. I've had her for almost 9 years now.

welcome to
the board the world of driving the world of hotrods/classic trucks as for parts: the board members/ supporters have a very wide range of parts and services and i really do suggest you check them out. however, don't limit yourself to board supporters. search the web and get yourself a subscription to classic trucks or some other reputable magazine. it sounds dumb but i have found the magazine extreemly usefull when i'm strugguling for ideas or looking for new part suppliers. ondrew p.s. please, please, PLEASE read through the F.A.Q. section of the site. it has a lot of information you will likely have questions about. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...?s=&forumid=28 |

How far are you from bowling green?
Good luck, I am 35 and have had my 70 c-10 since I was 14.
Southern Kentucky Classics is in bowling green and I have only good things to say about those guys. Collect catalogs and compare prices. This is a good community to be a part in.
