Mad help needed
hey ya'll... i just recently recieved a 1985 Chevrolet C/K20 Scottsdale Pickup 5.0L V8 4BBL as a gift.. the body is a lil beat up but the engine is running. Before i got it, it was sitting for 2 years so it took a new battery and some tranny fluid to start it up. Its definitely needs work so i came online to try to find info on how to repair/restore it. I searched on google and this website came up.. so here i am. I'm 18 and never really worked on anything more advanced than a moped so im not too engine savvy but i pik things up quickly so im not a lost case.. anyone with any info/help/advice for me pleasee share..
thanks in advance peace dan |

You're in the right place for help, this site has been invaluable to me. The members are great too.
I would suggest, since it sat so long, doing the basics first. Change the oil and filter, lube the chassis parts, check the belts and hoses, and give it a tune up, to include plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter. Check the brakes as well. Other than that, it depends on how the truck is running/driving. Anything major that you've noticed so far that needs to be attended to?
