Trucks in Hibernation?

The old Mutt has been in storage since Oct 1 and I'm dying to get it back out on the road. And up here, spring doesn't usually hit us till mid April so I have 2 months left to go. I went and started it last night tho. It's in my sis in laws 1 stall non insulated non heated garage and she started!! It warmed up to about -18 here yesterday so I figured I'd try it and she fired right away!! I've been stoked to drive it since then.

How many of you guys are waiting to dig your trucks out of storage?

Mine didn't get in storage this winter, but went x-mas shopping chistmas eve/day (roads were dry) something I never did before. "It warmed up to -18" YIKES!!!!! Good to hear it flashed right up though.

Is this hibernating? Or just hiding? Either way, it won't be out soon!

THATS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT LIVING OUT HERE IN THE WEST. I DRIVE MINE EVERY DAY IN THE WINTER & WHEN IT'S SNOWEY OUT I DRIVE ONE OF THE 4WDs. I LIVED IN MICHIGAN FOR 35 YEARS & COULD ONLY DRIVE MY OLD TRUCKS 6 OR 7 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR. JOHN

I'm sorta like andy, waiting for mine to be out of dormacy. Now that it runs again, I want so bad to have it back on the road, but still alot todo. But the winter hiding thing not a nig deal here. For me it might be a July/August exodus since there is no A/C.

Mine needs a tranny, but I still fire her up every couple of weeks or so and run her around the yard a bit. It sucks to only have R, 1,2 when you have a 700R4. Just like John, here in SC I can drive her year 'round. We only have snow maybe 2 days out of the whole year and everyone freaks out about it, so I just stay home. I plan to have her back on the road in maybe august??? We'll see.

In S'toon, it started to warm up and the snow was melting like crazy. Then today it started snowing, heavy snowfall warning for tonight, and supposed to keep it up right through till monday. Nice, eh! It's warmer than Flin Flon, but I'm afraid the groundhog was right. But there's always this board, and our truck club is meeting tonight. The days are getting longer, and if I can stay away from the $5 double Caesars & tequila after the meeting I might survive till spring,( whenever that is?) but it ain't easy.

I still have my Truck stored in the back yard...today I was very tempted to go back and fire it up for a spin. It felt like a spring day here...unfortunately I don't think I will be driving her much this summer as I'm currently changing jobs (Pay cut boooo!). So I prolly won't be able to afford to drive her daily anymore. So my truck may end up in dormancy like a few of you have said....which both sucks and blows.

Mine has been dormant for the most part since late 2000. Frickin sad Now it has a brake that locks if you touch the pedal, and a cooked trans..... I have most of the parts to get it going though, minus the trans, brake lines, and front end rebuild stuff, I look to have it roadworthy by this summer, finally! That 406 is dying to be driven.....er....maybe I'm dying to drive it with the 406....lol I've never had the opportunity to run it down the highway with a good engine, I'll be smiling ear to ear.

I drive mine everyday but its a $500 beater with an ugly dent in the left front fender, but if I had any money invested in it I probably par her during the winter.

I put a primered black hood on it just haven't gotten around to take any new pics yet. And the motor breathes better without the hood getting in the way.
