FS: '72 Chevy SWB in MN. - Sharp! $3800

For sale: 1972 Chevy short-widebox pickup (located in east-central Minnesota). I semi-restored this truck approx. 5-years ago to use as a summer driver back and forth to work. The truck is painted '69 Chevy Lemans Blue and looks very nostalgic with the American Racing 200S wheels and lowered stance (but not too low). All body panels are GM. Solid cab, fenders, hood, tail-gate and box sides. Box floor could use a few small patches, but is otherwise very strong. Frame was completely sandblasted and painted. New parts at the time of restoration included; GM inner and outer Grille assembly, GM rear wheel wells, Modine 4-core radiator, ball joints & bushings, turbo mufflers, dual exhaust, brake hardware & cylinders, Cooper radial tires, Bell Tech 2-1/2" front lowering spindles, 3" rear lowering coils, rear bumper, dash bezel, tachometer, carpet, seat covers, weatherstripping, etc. Added features include; 12-bolt 3:08 Posi rearend, Cheyenne Super emblems, rear cargo light, rear sliding window, tilt steering, tachometer, '67-72 factory bucket seats w/console, power disc brakes and power steering. The engine is a standard bore '69 Chevelle 300HP 350 and turbo-hydro 350 transmission. This truck presents very well and does run and drive, but the drive-train is tired. The engine uses a fair amount of oil, transmission is in need of a front main seal, power steering gearbox needs a new seal and rearend could also use freshening. Windshield was replaced last year along with a new windshield gasket, but I unfortunately caught several rocks from an oncoming dump truck late last fall and it will need a new windshield again. Great opportunity for the mechanically inclined person or a nice father/son project. $3800 firm. May consider trades for '71-72 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton 4x4's, 1964-72 Chevelle's, 1966-72 Nova's and 1967-72 Camaro's. More photo's to follow! E-mail: tclift2078@aol.com if interested.

Thanks,
Tim

That's what I REALLY would want for a daily driver... Wish I had money sometimes.

Thanks again for the comments everyone! When I decided to paint this truck in '69 Camaro Leman's Blue, I wasn't sure what the end result would be. But this color teamed with the American Racing 200S wheels really captured the nostalgic look I was after and the truck always reminded me of the early style Hot Wheels cars. My intentions were never to build this truck as a high dollar show vehicle, but a sharp, "eye-catching" truck that could be driven anytime, anywhere and still be used as a truck. I've had my fun with it and I'm ready to move on to my next project.

About how much do you think it will cost to fix everything on this truck? Also, about how far is PA for MN? Would you be interested in meeting halfway if it isnt too far of a drive? Can I have the town you live in so I can do a mapquest and then we'll go from there.
