Anybody here ever try and make their own seat foam? I can't justify spending $600 US on foam.

I haven't done my blazer's yet. But someone on the board showed how they did one with large piece of foam and old electric hand held carving knife it looked good. But someone ran a poll about buying seat foams after everyone said too expensive. Most of us seem to think a $ 150-200.00 a pair was fair

Actually you normally only need one seat's foam, so that helps a little bit. Put new molded foam in the driver's side, because it will get all of the daily wear. The passenger side is normally reusable, because of the limited wear over the years.
When I sell buckets, I include one new seat foam set and new seat covers at discount prices. I make a couple bucks on the add ons and the buyer shares in the discount savings. Last edited by PICKMUP; 02-15-2005 at 12:43 AM. |
